Wine Club Details

• Cal-Org Wine Appreciation Club (COWAC) would begin as a private non-profit organization for 1st 2 years, personally operated by founder (Barry) and later club membership may vote to establish the club as a formal non-profit organization
• The Club would initially hold a meeting every-other-month, until enough (~20+) members have joined, then monthly meetings would be the norm
• Club meetings would develope into the following; (a) a *social gathering for ~55 minutes (allowing late comers to arrive before meeting time), (b) a meeting ** for 30~45 minutes, and (c) a balance of Pot Luck meal for ~1 hour, for final social gathering time
• Club meetings would be on Friday nights
• Members would always be welcome to bring a guest (1 or 2 persons), though attendance is only allowed once per each specific guest(s). If the same guest(s) wish to return, they would be provided entrance for one (1) additional meeting prior to being required to joining the club (pay annual dues)
• Until election(s) and other committees are developed, all attendee’s and club members will be expected to assist in cleaning the venue, including any appliances which were used, and returning any tables and chairs back where they were or per venue rules/preferences
• Club would attempt to have either or both Thanksgiving event &/or a Holiday party annually

• Meeting specifics in general; (a) Meeting attendees must be adults (>21 age), (b) All attendees (each person or couple) are required to bring 1 bottle of wine (initially any varietal/blend, cost $5~$10 range, once a member cost could range $7~$19) + 1 appetizer (hot or cold), both to share with other attendees, (c) All attendees would be expected to behave & get along with others in a respective manner, even while consuming alcohol, (c) no politics and/or religion conversation(s) will be allowed, (d) meetings will begin promptly and end promptly at the announced start & finish time
• Meeting specific rules: (a) only adults (>21 age) can attend, (b) only humans (no animals of any kind) are allowed to attend & (c) no wearing of any perfume or cologne(s) (after shave, etc.)

* social gathering would consist of wine tasting and appetizer’s
** meeting would initially consist of a brief lecture (usually about a wine, grape varietals, or special topics) and then discussion about these and other topics; (a) questions of members to best assess what topics they have interest in, (b) issues and concerns re general purchasing of wine, (c) wine paired with foods, etc. In future meetings a guest speaker from the wine industry (a producer, sales person, retailer, etc) would give a 15~25 minute lecture on a specific wine subject
